Abstract

Big Data includes large datasets that origin from several human activities and are challenging to store, query, search, share and analyze. In the meanwhile, in the (semantic) web environment a special form of big data, called linked data, is rapidly increasing. Linked data represent metadata and knowledge, built upon a model for data interoperability called RDF. However, the conventional methods are limited on providing desirable operational functions on Big Data. This special session aims to provide a leading forum for exchanging and sharing experiences, new ideas, and research results on broad topics on Big Data Research, Development, and Applications.

Topics

Include but are not limited to the following:

  • Parallel distributed and grid data management
  • Big data storage, processing and querying
  • Interoperability and information integration
  • Linked data representation, integration
  • Applications of Linked data
  • Database technologies for big data
  • Query evaluation for RDF and linked data
  • Programming frameworks for big data
